Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia used Strea.ma at the Building HOPE Luncheon, their largest annual fundraiser. This year the event drew over 1,000 guests, including corporate, civic and philanthropic leaders from across the Philadelphia region.
Henry Randolph, Development Manager of Communications, chose Strea.ma as the social wall for the event – and he was glad he did!
“Strea.ma provided a combination of factors that was perfect for our event. We needed the platform just for a short time, and Strea.ma’s month-to-month subscription and overall affordability were a great fit (and were realistic for a non-profit org like us). We also appreciated the instantaneous stream updating, the fact that Strea.ma provides a choice between several visual formats, and the ability to collect posts from the top three social networks (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram)—all features that were important for our event, which other live stream platforms don’t provide together at this price point.
Strea.ma provided us a new way to engage our guests during the event. Its live social stream was an invaluable way for us to establish a dialogue with our guests, giving them a chance to join the discussion around our organizational mission. In turn, this helped them feel like a more central part of our work, which is critical for us as an organization that is supported by donors and volunteers.
Strea.ma also helped us maximize our social media campaign using a specific event hashtag, which our followers and supporters used over 150 times during the event. For a smaller non-profit organization like us, that’s quite a lot! We took advantage of the surge in conversation to drive supporters to our website and social channels, with the result that we saw our second highest ever volume of visits to our website.
When we’re looking for a live feed again we’ll definitely go with Strea.ma!”
